10 Directives of DRR of RI D3860

“MORI VITA!”

To die is to live…

Today the challenge is less dramatic but no less urgent. We must repeat the feat of our forebears in a more commonplace sphere, away from the pressure of heroic adventure – by hastening our Rotaract District Organization to its transformation.

We have come upon a phase of our history when some members of our clubs whose purpose and ideas are only a veneer for greed and power in public and private affairs, when devotion to duty and dedication to a public trust are to be weighed at all times against private advantages and personal gain, and when loyalties can be traded in the open field.

If we will not kill ourselves now, how are we going to live in the present? Critically speaking if we will not transform ourselves into an excellent being then it would be better for us not be born in this world! Ladies and Gentlemen, Our Rotaract District Organization is at stake, against a far-reaching network of insufficiency and ineffectiveness among us its associates. The Rotaractors are badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare this organization for a new age

The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness and that reaffirmation can only be attained if we will follow religiously the 10 Directives of the District Rotaract Representative of RI D3860.

1. Promote the “Ask Receipt Habit”;

2. Endorse any livelihood project that will help the out of school youth in your vicinity;

3. Promote literacy program;

4. All clubs whose memberships reach 20 Rotaractors will receive a DRR Special Citation;

5. Sponsor a project that is solely initiated and funded by your club;

6. Send one representative to the APRRC to be held in Subic and one delegate to the Rotaract International Conference in Bangkok, Thailand;

7. Conduct a fun run for the Environment “Rotaractors: Runners for a Greener Life”

8. Celebrate 44th World Rotaract Week;

9. Undertake a significant public image campaign in the community (print, radio, television and billboards ;)

10. Prop up an Anti-Drug Abuse Campaign.

Thus, we prove to our posterity that our aspiration was true that even sometimes we committed insolvent pronouncement; the wave of our organization is not flaw but potency.

Thank you and may God Bless us all….

Acceptance Speech - DRR RI D3860

Tonight, I stand before you as a volunteer; I am choosing to be a Rizal for everybody. As we heal the different crises of our organization. I am willing to partake the culture of progress of the Rotaract District Organization. I, as your District Rotaract Representative would cooperate to the bridges towards integrity and I will reach within to embrace Humanity. My future and your future will be as beautiful as Juan Luna’s masterpiece; for I know that the vision and mission’s direction of each and every Rotaractor around the world is geared towards excellence. And in every struggle towards this noble aim, I will remember the sacrifices of our Past District Representative, willing to humble one’s self for one’s organization.
