"I have come not to abolish but to fulfill" - Jesus

Jesus said to his disciples “Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill’. I am not an expert of the Bible nor have any degree in theology or even have a certificate of mastering a bible course; I am writing this reflection based on my opinion and my spiritual insights.

I was taught since from the beginning of my earthly awakening that Jesus Christ is the son of God, and God sent forth his son to grant us all the salvation from the unending fires of hell. I am convinced that Jesus Christ is the living messiah and the bearer of deliverance to humanity. My catechist mentor told me that Jesus Christ have done many great things here on earth, like spreading the word of God, healing the sick people, grant forgiveness to the cruel individual and teaches morality and encourage people to have faith to God the Father.

I am fortunate that I was raised in a family whose grandmother is a strict implementer of Christian Doctrine. At the age of six I am mastered to recite and pray the Holy Rosary, I have memorized the prayer before meals and prayer before going to bed. I am blessed to have this kind of life, a life who’s center is God.

We are Christ followers and whatever Christ have started we are obliged to continue the good works he has done. Can you still recite the 10 commandments? Are you aware of these commandments? Do you still religiously obeying the commandments of God?

10 commandments

1.                You shall have no other gods before me.

2.               You shall not make for yourself any carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

3.               You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.

4.               Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

5.               Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

6.               You shall not murder.

7.               You shall not commit adultery.

8.               You shall not steal.

9.               You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

10.          You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”

It is our duty to continue sharing and spreading the commandments of God because these are our passport to heaven. Even God have said that whoever obeys and teaches these commandments will be called greatest in the kingdom of God.

Memorandum - DISCON 2012

Forgiving our brother with all our heart!

Forgiveness might be the most difficult thing to confer to our fellowmen who have sinned against us. I believe that humans are structured with the resemblance of the Supreme Being; therefore I could say that If God is a merciful God then why not his children also seize the same characteristic.

As I have observed in the television shows, novels, short stories, fictional stories and works of poetry, they have all things in common -  vengeance, revenge and reprisal. Is it really necessary for an individual to fight back if being oppressed? We are labeled as the highest form of living thing in the animal kingdom; we are very special and unique species because we are the only genus who could think well and used our knowledge and wisdom in everything we do. Hatred is not at answer but Forgiveness!

The scripture taught me to forgive those who have sinned against me not just seventy times but seventy-seven times. After reading the gospel my reaction was “WHOA!” I find it difficult to manifest but I believe that with the Devine intervention of the Holy Spirit this can be done!

I am a politician and we all know that – politics is dirty! If proven correct then I am living in the dirty environment! But my comment to that statement is this “Politics is not supposed to be dirty, it became filthy because of those people who have unclean thoughts and grimy intentions, those people who have full of greed, desire and lust of power, wealth and possession, those individual that have no single conscience or fear to do immoral acts either they engage themselves into corruption, fraud and abuse of power. I belong to the new generation, I believe that my blood is purer that those traditional politicians, my principles is more wholesome than those dishonest elected official and my character is more hygienic than  those depraved officer. If I will dwell and lived up to their world, I can see no future to our country – it means to greater success for my fellowmen and no superior glory for God! If I will not act now, if I will not start doing the right and appropriate dealings and if I will not begin the fight for decency and straightforwardness then when will it be? Who will initiate the battle for excellence?”

Amidst all those wretched politicians, I still grant them my forgiveness, even though they fool us but still they deserved our forgiveness. God forgive those who tortured and mock Him, how can’t I forgive those who indirectly commit inadequacy towards me. I have numbers of detractors since I am exposed to politics at a very young age and stand to what is precise, even though they plotted evil against me, spread deceitful words adjacent to me but still I forgive them because my God taught me to do so.

Forgiveness is a valuable gift we can bestow to our brothers and sisters – it can’t be bought nor sold by anybody.

Let’s forgive our brother with all our heart!
